EXECUTIVE ORDER 2020-2

  • The Governor’s executive order 2020-2 from March does not specifically close any businesses due to the COVID outbreak, however, statewide Public Health Orders have regulated businesses and have recently set forth certain guidelines for reopening as outlined below.

THIRD CONTINUATION, AND MODIFICATION, OF STATEWIDE PUBLIC

HEALTH ORDER CLOSING BARS, RESTAURANTS, THEATERS,

GYMNASIUMS, CHILD CARE FACILITIES, K-12 SCHOOLS, COLLEGES,

UNIVERSITIES, AND TRADE SCHOOLS STATEWIDE

  • This Order is effective May 1, 2020 and shall remain in effect through May 15, 2020.
  • The following places of business are closed to ingress, egress, use, and occupancy by members of the public:
    • Restaurants
    • Bars
    • Gyms
    • Theaters
  • HOWEVER:
    • Restaurants and bars may offer food and beverages using delivery service, window service, walk-up service, curbside delivery, drive-through service, or drive-up service, and to use precautions in doing so to mitigate the potential transmission of COVID-19, including social distancing.
    • Gyms may open in a limited capacity so long as they comply with specific guidelines set forth in the Public Health Order.
  • Child care centers may operate so long as they comply with strict guidelines set forth by the Public Heath Order.

HEALTH ORDER #3: TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF NAIL SALONS, HAIR SALONS,

BARBER SHOPS, MASSAGE THERAPY SERVICES, TATTOO, BODY ART AND

PIERCING SHOPS, AND COSMETOLOGY, ELECTROLOGY, AND ESTHETIC

SERVICES

  • This Order is effective May 1, 2020 and shall remain in effect through May 15, 2020.
  • The following businesses may open pursuant to conditions outlined below:
    • Nail salons, hair salons, barbershops;
    • Cosmetology, electrology, and esthetic services;
    • Massage therapy services; and
    • Tattoo, body art, and piercing shops.
  • Conditions of reopening:
    • No more than 9 people present in a room or confined space;
    • Service stations must be 6 feet apart;
    • All staff screened for COVID-19 at the beginning of each shift;
    • All patrons and staff must wear face coverings;
    • Service provided by appointment only;
    • No waiting areas permitted;
    • Must comply with specific cleaning and sanitizing guidelines;
    • Must maintain detailed records of all persons entering business (for potential contact tracing assistance).
